Former Cameroonian minister Mbella Mbappe dies in Paris

LIBREVILLE, January 5  (Infosplusgabon) -  Former Cameroonian Minister, Robert Mbella Mbappe, died on Saturday night in Paris, France, where he had been on admission for a month, family sources said.

 

 

Mbappe, 77, had been suffering from several diseases including Parkinson's disease and hypertension for several years.  Born on 21 October 1937, he occupied several high positions of responsibility during his long career.

 

He was Chancellor of the University of Yaoundé in the 1980s and minister of National Education, Posts and Telecommunications, Foreign Affairs and Justice. Mbappe was also director of Cabinet under the presidency of Paul Biya and  a member of the central committee of the Cameroon Democratic Peoples’ Movement. (Source PANA).
