Malian President validates 2020 agricultural campaign plan

Bamako, Mali, March 21 (Infosplusgabon) - Malian president Ibrahim Boubacar Kéita, on Friday approved the 2020 agricultural campaign plan at the end of the 10th session of the Higher Council of Agriculture held in Bamako.



The session, which addressed the major concerns of the rural world, a sector of great vitality for the Malian economy, approved the assessment of the 2019-2020 campaign and the projections for 2021-2022.


During the session, the Malian president praised the operationalization of the municipal land commissions installed in 2018, as part of the general budget support of the World Bank, believing that they helped manage land disputes in the various localities.


Regarding the modernization of agriculture, he indicated that it involves the mechanization of the means of production which constitutes a strong axis of the agricultural policy of the country.


"This is why, I followed with great interest the launch, on July 10, 2019, of the pilot phase of the 10 rural centres for the provision of agricultural services in Manantali, in the region of Kayes," President Kéita said.
