President Kagame begins 2-day visit to Sudan

Khartoum, Sudan, December 20 (Infosplusgabon) - President Paul Kagame of Rwanda arrived here on Wednesday, heading a high-level delegation on a two-day state visit to Sudan for talks with President Omar Bashir on bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.

 

Welcomed at Khartoum Airport by President Bashir, a number of ministers and other senior Sudanese officials, Kagame is accompanied by a delegation that includes his foreign and defence ministers and the security chief.

 

According to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the two sides would discuss political and economic relations and trade exchanges. They will sign an agreement for the formation of a political consultation committee.

 

While here, Kagame will visit the National Museum and the Khartoum-based International University of Africa, where a number of Rwandan nationals are pursuing their university studies.

 

A Rwandan contingent is also taking part in the peace keeping mission in Darfur, under the UN-AU peace keeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID).
