Coronavirus: Number of positive cases climb to 17 in Rwanda

Kigali, Rwanda, March 21 (Infosplusgabon) - COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases in Rwanda have now reached 17 after six new cases were confirmed on Friday, according to a statement issued by the ministry of Health in Kigali.

 

 

 

Among the confirmed cases is a 30-year-old French woman, whose partner was previously confirmed positive along with their son aged 10 months, and a Rwandan man with no travel record, the statement said.

 

A Rwandan man, 32, who arrived from Dubai, UAE, a 26-year-old Swedish man who arrived from Sweden, a Rwandan man, 32, who is a frequent traveller, and another Rwandan man, 24, who arrived from India via Doha, Qatar, are the other cases.

 

All patients remain under treatment in isolation and are in stable condition, the ministry said.

 

The tracing for all contacts has been conducted for further management.

 

Anyone who arrived in Rwanda within the past two weeks is required to self-quarantine for 14 days from the date of arrival and follow all self-quarantine guidelines from the Ministry of Health.
