Port Louis, Mauritius, August 20 (Infosplusgabon) - Pope Francis' visit to Mauritius on September 9 will be marked by the planting of 200,000 trees by next December across the island, Mauritian media reported on Tuesday quoting the Vicar General of the Diocese of Port Louis, Jean-Maurice Labour.

He said that one of the themes of the papal visit is "Branches ... for a trendy pope!" And that planting the trees will be like a gift to the Supreme Pontiff.

The Vicar General also said that the Pope will bless a number of plants during his visit to the island.
