Paris, France, June 4 (Infosplusgabon) - The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the Sudanese military authorities' violent repression on sit-in protesters in front of the army headquarters in the Sudanese capital, which has claimed 30 lives.

"France condemns the violence suppression of demonstrations. It asks that the perpetrators of this violence be brought to justice", the Quai d'Orsay said Monday

Following the violent crackdown on Monday, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhane, President of the Transitional Military Council, said in a statement Tuesday on television, he has called off all negotiations with the civil opposition, regarding the transfer of power and the organization of a three-year transition, and imposed elections in the next nine months.

But France called for continued dialogue between the Transitional Military Committee and the opposition so that an inclusive agreement is quickly found on the transitional institutions.

"France calls on all Sudanese parties to refrain from any violent action that could taint the peaceful transition that the Sudanese people aspire to", said the Quai d'Orsay.
