One Rwandan Para-Powerlifting coach goes missing at Commonwealth Games in Australia

Kigali, Rwanda, April 14 (Infosplusgabon) -  Rwanda on Friday confirmed that the head coach of the nation's Para-Powerlifting team, Jean Paul Nsengiyumva, has goe missing while attending the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

 

The head of Rwandan delegation at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Valens Munyabagisha, explained that the whereabouts of the Rwandan coach was still unknown as he did did not return to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games village since last Tuesday.

 

According to the rules of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, no athlete is supposed to go out without an official to accompany them.

 

Reports say that the Rwandan official went missing just some minutes before the end of his athletes' competition.

 

Rwanda sent 17 athletes to the Games to participate in 4 disciplines (Beach Volleyball, Athletics, Cycling, and Para-Powerlifting).

 

In a related development, Cameroon on Tuesday confirmed that eight athletes, six men and two women have vanished from the Games, while two Ugandan athletes have vanished, reports said.
