FIFA holds 12th Executive Football Summit in Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, February 23 (Infosplusgabon)  - Tanzanian on Thursday hosted the FIFA Executive Football Summit (EFS) in Dar es Salaam chaired by the organization’s president Gianni Infantino.

 

The summit took place behind closed doors at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre,  attended by top executives and general secretaries of about 20 football associations from Europe, North America, Central America and Africa.

 

A brief from the organization said the 12th EFS is part of FIFA’s new democratic system to discuss with stakeholders on the future of global football.

 

The EFS will discuss FIFA Forward Programme – Looking ahead to the next cycle. The future of FIFA’s Youth, Women’s and Club Competitions, How to improve the transfer system and the international match calendar and FIFA’s priorities.

 

Small group discussions were also scheduled to give member associations an optimal platform to make their voice and ideas heard on FIFA’s strategic topics, which will shape the future of FIFA as an organization and football as a sport.

 

Before the start of the Summit, Infantino, accompanied by CAF President Ahmad Ahmad, called on Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa who assured FIFA of Tanzania’s full support for the development of football in the country.

 

Tanzanian Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Harrison Mwakyembe said that FIFA’s selection of Tanzania to host the meeting, signifies that the world football governing body has faith with policies and strategies the country takes in developing football.
