Japan keen on cooperation with Zimbabwe

Harare, Zimbabwe, February  21 (Infosplusgabon) -  The government of Japan is looking forward to cooperate with the new government of Zimbabwe in road construction through a multimillion dollar grant aid, according to the Asian country’s ambassador in Harare.

 

Japanese Ambassador Toshiyuki Iwado, who met with Zimbabwean Vice President Kembo Mohadi in Harare on Monday, said the Japanese government wants to help in the upgrading of parts of the Zimbabwe north-south corridor, mainly the Chirundu-Beitbridge highway.

 

The government of Japan has been working in Zimbabwean communities in the areas of food security, water and sanitation projects and schools infrastructure.

 

It is also actively involved in the modernisation and upgrading of Nyakomba Irrigation Scheme which covers 430 hectares and provides livelihoods to several communities in the area.
